Thank you for your interest in speaking at the UMC 2026 conference. The UMC and IMMS are committed to providing the latest evidenced-based, non-biased scientific content to our participants. We are always looking for knowledgeable, energetic, experienced, and academically recognized speakers who want to share their expertise and / or research findings to all interested parties.
This year the organizing committee is offering travel and accommodation support to a selected group of Early-Career Professionals. The best abstracts from this group will be chosen to receive air ticket, hotel and conference registration fee waiver. If you have graduated less than 5 years ago, please make sure to check this box when submitting your abstract.
Your abstract and expertise will be reviewed with consideration to our identified needs assessment results, to this year’s conference focus, peer-reviewed journals, and ongoing stakeholder evaluation recommendations. Please note, if invited to speak, you may be presenting to an audience of 200+ ocean mining stakeholders who will be participating in a 5-minute question and answer session at the end of your presentation.
If you prefer to present a poster, you can submit your abstract as one.
Poster size: A0
Tripod stands will be provided for hanging the posters.
Printing can be done locally for additional cost. Please contact us about that.
The abstract should be sent by August 1, 2026 by clicking on the "Submit your Abstract" button below. Please note that we do not impose a length requirement for the abstracts. We will notify you about the acceptance in August and you will have one month from this date to send us the full essay / paper, if you desire. Your presentation is due one week before the conference (should be sent by email) and it should be tailored to fit a 15-minute presentation.
